Walker Rickord


Chief Scientific Officer

Walker is Chief Scientific Officer at Nephra. As CSO, he is responsible for leading Nephra’s R&D to assist with technical and product development.

Walker is currently a bioengineering, psychology, and computer science student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in its Grainger College of Engineering and its College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Walker brings a wealth of technical, research, and leadership experience to Nephra. Over the past two years, he has worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a neuromorphic computing R&D intern, PSYONIC as a mechatronics engineer intern, and Jensen Lab as a machine learning research assistant. He aspires to improve the quality of life of patients in need through AI/ML applications in medical devices, biotechnology, and healthcare.
